January 22nd, 2012 [Part 1]: After missing out both last weekend and yesterday, I did finally make it to my favorite breakfast spot, Nita’s, today!
Here’s a lesson that I know thedeependofthepool will appreciate: *Always* be nice to your waitress! (and of course, “Don’t move your cup!”) …Because I go here ALL the time, and have built a great relationship with the waitresses, and the owners (-who also do all of the cooking), I was given an awesome, special breakfast this morning.
My favorite omelet, the Tuscan, (Bacon, Basil, Tomato, & Fresh Mozzarella), wasn’t listed on the ‘Specials’ board this morning, so I began looking at the other specials on the board, and their new “Reese’s” pancakes (which was *STUFFED* with Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips) caught my eye. At the same time, when the owners saw me waiting to be seated, they told my waitress to let me know that even though my omelet wasn’t listed, that they still had the ingredients for it, and had saved enough in case I came in.
-All of this lead to the following conversation with my waitress when I was seated: [For full-effect, you should read her parts in a heavy Eastern-European accent, which she has…]
Her: Did you want your Tuscan?
Me: Oh, I didn’t think you had that today.
Her: Well, they told me they have enough for you, but it’s not up on the board.
Me: Hmm… When I didn’t see it I started looking at the new pancakes, the Reese’s ones… Hmm, now I’m not sure which one to get.
Her: Oooh! How about this, you could get the omelet, and instead of the toast and home fries, we can add the pancakes instead.
Me: [Dumbfounded] Wait, YOU CAN DO THAT?!!!
…It was my most awesome breakfast EVER! - And, I made sure to give my waitress an even larger tip than usual! (- and I’m always very generous with my tips!)
