GPOYW - I haven’t really been smiling in most of my pictures lately, so I wanted to post one with a genuine smile. Because work, and life, has been leaving my exhausted & grumpy most of the time lately, I knew it would be a longshot for me to take a smiling photo of myself today (Wednesdays are usually my absolute craziest day of the week at work, and today was no exception)- SO, I made sure to take *this* photo over this past weekend, while I was actually in a happy mood after a fun Mother’s Day party with my family, followed by listening to some great new records I picked up recently. I hate that I haven’t had as much time lately to interact here, and I’m sorry for getting so behind on returning messages… I fear it’s going to get worse for awhile before it gets any better.  I have so many things I’d like to write about in my head, but never seem to have enough time to sort them out… Hopefully, I won’t forget them all once things slow down and get back to normal, and I actually have some free time again.

GPOYW - “I’m getting really f’n sick of this place” edition. I’m talking about work of course, not Tumblr… Just when it looked like some of the positions I was covering for were beginning to get filled, and I might get to actually take some of the 200+ hours of vacation time I have stored-up, they had to go and fire the office manager at our largest program… And just guess *who* had to pickup their workload, on top of all the other jobs I was already doing! (Ugh!) Sorry I haven’t had much Tumblr-time lately (and when I have had a few minutes, I haven’t been able to actually get myself to write anything)… I probably should’ve held up something with today’s date on it, so you could use this as a “proof of life” photo as well!

GPOYW  Sorry I haven’t had much to say lately, so here’s a ‘Gratuitous’ shot of my face - as we do on Wednesdays… Life has been kicking my ass around lately: Work has been crazy, I’ve been covering for multiple people for so many weeks now that I’m lucky if I even know my own name anymore. - I’ve been so damn exhausted by the time I get home (usually an hour or two late) that it’s a struggle just to catch up on my dash for a few minutes without falling asleep.  As far as my personal life goes… well, I’m not quite sure what the hell is going on there. It’s filled with feelings of confusion, abandonment, frustration… I feel like I’ve been seeking answers from someone for so long now that I can’t even remember the questions anymore.  To end this on a more positive note: Things are still going well here with my nephew. He’s been keeping his head on straight, and it’s been very heartwarming to see him bond with his son, and how truly happy he is to finally be able to participate in his son’s life. He’s been doing everything right, and has an amazingly positive attitude about his time in prison and restarting his life afterwards… It’s been refreshing to see, and I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to help him during this transition, and that we’ve had this new chance to bond more than we ever had before. I didn’t really plan to write this much with my photo, but I’m glad that I did. - Thank you for reading, and thanks for all messages & support that so many of you have given me recently… It has truly meant a lot to me.

GPOYW: ”Worst Fucking Day…EVER!” edition [NO Filters & NO Smiles] Here’s how I look in the aftermath of one of the worst days I’ve ever experienced… Work sucked; I covered for four other people’s jobs today *besides* my own, and one of those people ended-up getting themselves fired, so I’ll be having most of their work (that they were already VERY behind on) added to mine for the foreseeable future. [A.K.A.- I can cancel any vacation plans I had for the next couple of months. Ugh!] Plus, in addition to the work bullshit, I think what little personal life I had just blew up between last night and this morning, and the *one* person in the entire world that I really want to talk to, the one person who can always make me feel better, doesn’t seem to want to talk to me anymore… So not very much is going right currently. :(

For the “17” meme… I feel like I’ve posted this photo a bazillion times already, but it’s the only photo of the “teenaged-Me” that I have on my phone. - This was my Senior Yearbook photo, and was taken in Oct. 1989, a month before I turned 17. Seventeen was a important year in my life: I graduated HS that year, then got my own apartment with my best friend two months later. - There was lots of partying, and it was also the most active year of my life in the “romantic” sense (…as much as I make fun of that hair now, it was responsible for much of my success with women in my late-teens & early 20’s. - When I cut it off a few years later it had a “Samson”-like effect, and took all of my “luck” in the dating/sex department with it!) During the Summer after graduation (1990), I started dating someone who was four years older than me… We’d get engaged a year later, though thankfully we never actually got married. - That lasted for two more years, and managed to screw me up for relationships for many years to come. In fact, it’s been over 20 years since, and that’s still the longest relationship of my entire life …So yeah, I’ve got issues! :P
