How did I spend my Saturday “in exile” due to the snow? - With the Rolling Stones’ classic Exile On Main St. on vinyl of course!
I actually found this first-pressing of 'Exile' last year, but never actually posted about it here. - I didn’t even realize that it *was* a first-pressing until after I got it home, and went to enter it into the Discogs.com database for my vinyl collection. [According to Discogs, the "Unipak" packaging that my copy came in was only used for the first-pressings, in 1972. They switched it to the two-pocket Gatefold-style for all future pressings.]
I must say, it’s in amazing shape for a copy that’s now over 40 years old. The cover does have a little wear, but the vinyl itself is in absolutely pristine shape, and it plays beautifully. It even still has all 12 of the postcards that originally came with it inside.
