"I pull you close now baby, but when we kiss I can feel a doubt I remember back when we started My kisses used to turn you inside out I used to drive you to work in the morning Friday night I’d drive you all around You used to love to drive me wild But lately girl you get your kicks from just driving me down…”
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band - To All the Lights in the Windows
"…Jesus off in the water Standing on his feet Yeah, that’s the thing about charisma It makes everyone believe That there is nothing impossible When I’m with you, and when you’re with me I got a sad sinking feeling That that can never be
But I’m going to do what I can for you I will make a plea To all the lights in the windows The puddles in the streets And all the lovers that you’ve been teasing From your balcony May they carry you far from my memory…”
"…You so pretty with your hair all a mess your eyes so bright and full of happiness and I could not find the words to tell you how you are making me feel inside I just stood there before you and smiled
Well I wanna know you, wanna kiss you, wanna love you I wanna show you there will be no one else above you when you’re mine baby, when you’re my sweet, my sweet little baby…”
“My mirrors laughing at me, says boy, are you getting old There’s so much junk in your life what you’ve got you don’t even know Don’t take a phone company to tell you life’s pay as you go I wonder how much of life is set up in utero
Under the waterfall Under the waterfall Under the waterfall It’s cool and cold and clear…”
Good Morning Tumblrs!
Here’s a few more reblogs of music posts from my first month here (…While I’m busy working for “the Man”!)
"I need someone to save me… I need someone to say to me, that everything’s gonna be alright.."
Here’s the first of the reblogs… This song received absolutely no love when I first posted it last July, and I remember being a bit bummed at the time, because I was hoping at least a few folks would give it a try.
If I remember correctly, I first heard this song on an episode of House a few years ago, but I had no idea who the artist was until last year.
I was surprised to see that *this* happened today, while I was busy working...
I was mostly surprised because I had a bunch of new followers over the past 24 hours, while I was barely posting at all! (…Hmm, maybe that’s the trick!) So I wasn’t really expecting to hit 300 today, or even this week!
I didn’t really have anything special planned to celebrate, so I’ve decided to reblog some music posts that didn’t get much attention when I posted them in my first month here (…when there was only about 10-20 of you ‘following’ me!).
I’ll probably post a few tonight, and save a couple more in my queue to post tomorrow, when I’ll be busy trying to concentrate on actually working again!
Thanks to everyone who has stuck with me all this time!
I missed out on all the Beastie Boy*funtime* this morning, so here’s my contribution…
Beastie Boys - Sure Shot
I’m sure that someone else has probably posted this one already, but it’s one of my favorite songs of their’s… and it includes one of my favorite lyrics:
"I want to say a little something that’s long overdue The disrespect to women has got to be through To all the mothers and the sisters and the wives and friends I want to offer my love and respect to the end…”
I realized when I got home earlier that I gave the wrong year for my “Hole-In-One” in my Random Facts post(I’ve since edited it)…
The actual date was: April 18th 2002, and here’s the plaque to prove it!
Let me just state for the record that: there was absolutely *No Actual Talent* involved in the shot itself!!! It was 100% Dumb, Blind LUCK!
I actually completely pulled the ball to the left, way off-course (see diagram below)… the only thing that saved my shot was the fact that it *Ricocheted* off the wooden staircase, and perfectly landed on the green and rolled into the hole!
I created the “state-of-the-art” graphic below, to explain the craziness of the shot!
…And YES, there *was* an actual witness to this amazing shot! :P
