Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - The Waiting [Live]
“…Well yeah, I might have chased a couple women around
All it ever got me was down
Then there were those that made me feel good
But never as good as I feel right now
Baby you’re the only one that’s ever known how
To make me wanna live like I wanna live now…”
Goodnight Tumblrs…xoxo

January 30th, 2012: The sky as I was leaving work late this afternoon.
I’ve been staring at these two photos for a couple of hours now, trying to decide which one to post, and I’ve just finally decided that I literally can’t choose… so here’s *both* of them.

Even though I no longer have any pets, I’ve never bothered to take myself off my Vet’s email list since my cats passed away last Summer… And now I’m really glad that I stayed on the list, because this email made me smile in the middle of a bad day at work today.
Such a cute promotional idea!

Blitzen Trapper - Stranger In A Strange Land
“…There’s a warm and a gentle feeling
It ain’t ever worth concealing what you see
And the rains inside my brains keeps the memories contained
But I miss you like the wind misses the trees
‘Cause I’m a stranger in a strange land
Guess I left the world behind
But my love is like the galaxy, seems slow but it sure does shine
And when I’m gone you’ll know me by
The friends I leave behind”

Deer Tick - Miss K.
“Well don’t you wait and let time
Put those bags under your eyes
Put your bag in your hand and run with me
Just to know you this close
Darling, I have nearly choked
Can’t you see, you can have all my tomorrows
Come on Miss K,
Wrap your loving arms around me
Talk dirty, turn me on, let’s get going
Well we’re young and we’re brave
Don’t turn your back and walk away
Put your back to the past and take off fast
Just a dance in your arms
It’s like I can fall apart
So take a chance, change your stance, see what happens
Come on Miss K,
Wrap your drunken arms around me
Talk dirty, turn me on, let’s get going…”

January 28th, 2012 [Part 2]: The Clock-Tower at ECSU. This hadn’t been built yet when I went to school here… At the time it was part of the then-University President Dr. Carter’s “Master Plan” to completely renovate the school.
I still remember the models of how the school would eventually look, that he had up in the Student Center back in the mid-90’s. This Clock-Tower was his proudest part, and we would frequently joke among the newspaper staff that it was his way of “leaving his manhood” to shadow over the school. - In fact, there were a few times where we let through an intentional typo- “accidentally” leaving out the ‘L’ in Clock-Tower - into the paper, and would just feign surprise when the Administration noticed it!
In the time since his Cock-Tower was finally ‘erected’, Dr. Carter has moved on to an even more powerful position: he’s now the Chancellor over the entire Connecticut State University system. - Although I always liked to joke with him (…and *about* him…), I will give him his due: he truly helped build-up the school, and went out of his way to leave the place in incredibly better shape than it was when he first started there.
